The United States Postal Service suffered a drop in mail volume, which also resulted in a loss of $2.4B in their latest quarter (ending Jun 30). The loss is being attributed to email usage as well as the recession. The USPS pays out nearly $6B in retiree health benefits, so this quarterly loss could result in cash flow problems by the end of the fiscal year.
