UK’s Mark Cavendish has won tenth leg (Stage 10) of the 2009 Tour de France cycling competition. Norway’s Thor Hushovd came in second in the tenth leg, beating USA’s Tyler Farrar in third. This puts Cavendish six points behind Hushovd, who leads Cavendish at 147 points and holds the green jersey.
In overall standings, first place is held by Rinaldo Nocentini, followed by Alberto Contador, and Lance Armstrong in third place. Stages 11-13 take place July 15, 16 and 17, respectively.
